|
|
Abstract As a routine examination method of the heart, electrocardiogram(ECG) plays an important role in the initial evaluation to definitely diagnose or exclude cardiogenic syncope, and it is also significant in the diagosis and risk stratification of cardiogenic syncope. In the ECG examination items including ambulatory electrocardiography, exerciseload ECG, inhospital or remote monitoring ECG, remote transmission ECG and implantable cardiac monitor, the features of the related equipments, directions for use and suitable population are illustrated in details in the constantly updating guidelines. ECG examination is necessary in making definite diagnosis of syncope. The characteristic changes of various wave segments on ECG can reveal the potential causes of syncope, and malignant arrhythmia also helps to determine cardiogenic syncope.
