Abstract Objective To identify left posterior branch block in time,by recording its electrocardiogram(ECG) and vectorcardiogram(VCG) simultaneously. Methods Five cases of left posterior branch block were taken into analysis, which had clinical manifestations and specific diagnostic results by VCG.Results The VCGs of 5 cases with left posterior branch block were mainly characterized by the F maximum vector shifting to the bottom right. Conclusion In the diagnosis of left posterior branch block,VCG is obviouly superior to ECG.Without the verification of VCG,the reliability of ECG diagnostic criterion of left posterior branch block is poor, regardless of its version. Therefore, cautiousness is a must in ECG diagnosis.A combination of ECG and VCG can improve the accuracy of diagnosis.
