Abstract To analyze the effects of the micro-sprinkler diameter, nozzle structure, working pressure, and spray angle on the water distribution in single-hole,Ф28, Ф32, Ф40, and Ф50, commonly used in mechanical drilling, were studied while different pressures were applied to study the characteristics of single-hole sprinkler(other holes were occluded and not mixed into the flow of single-hole)under normal operation. The parameters of range, wetting area, and width of the drying zone under different working pressures were measured. The spray distance range increases first and then decreases with the spray angle, and the maximum range is between 30°and 40°. The range increases with the increase of the working pressure. There is a positive correlation between the wetting zone width, the spray angle and the working pressure. The variation of the range and the width of the drying zone with the spray angle is the same. The maximum value of the wetting zone area appears at the spray angle of 50°. In actual operation, it is suggested that micro spray jet angle is between 30°-50°, and the laid spacing of adjacent micro spray should be reasonable decorated according to the dry area and range.
