Improved Design of Non-Overload Super-Low Specific Speed Centrifugal Pump |

Abstract The reasons of low efficiency,hump and steep brake power curve and overload easily were analyzed for super-low specific speed centrifugal pump,and unreasonable selection of hydraulic design parameters was pointed out.The factors to low efficiency,hump and overload are also analyzed,and the improve measures are explored also.Based on the match relation among the geometric parameters,the problems such as unsteady running,low efficiency and steep power curve were resolved.The pump XCM158 was modified under the study,whose efficiency is increased to 23%;and the brake head is over 32 m,which induced steeper curve of Q-H;and the biggest power occurred on the large flow rate,which meet the requirement of non-overload.All these results prove that evident improve of pump performance can obtained by improved design.
