Abstract:In order to make full use of saline water resources, the effects of fresh water, 4 g/L, 5 g /L and 6 g/L saline irrigation water and 0%, 2% and 5% biochar application on photosynthetic characte-ristics indexes such as chlorophyll content, net photosynthetic rate and fluorescence parameters of maize leaves, as well as plant grain yield and water use efficiency were studied experimentally by using barrel planting maize under shelter. The results show that compare with fresh water irrigation, under saline water irrigation, the chlorophyll content of maize leaves decreases by 4.07%-19.62%, the net photosynthetic rate decreases by 27.23%-57.46%, the initial fluorescence yield(F0)increases gradually, while Fm and Fv/Fm decrease gradually, the photosynthesis is inhibited, and the grain yield per plant decrease by 8.42%-36.03%, and the water use efficiency decreases by 4.81%-33.96%. The application of biochar can alleviate the salt stress caused by saline water irrigation, promote the photosynthesis of maize leaves, improve the CO2 and light energy utilization potential of crops, and increase maize grain yield, dry matter quality as well as water use efficiency. Considering its gain effect and economy comprehensively, the mitigation effect of B2S4 treatment is the best, which can provide a re-ference for the actual production of saline water irrigation.
