The study on the applicationoriented university research: a visual analysis based on key words of papers in CNKI for the period 2001—2015 |

Abstract The author conducts a bibliometric analysis of the applicationoriented university research in China based on the dataset of CNKI for the period 2001—2015. The occurrence frequency and mutation rate of keywords from 7 625 papers focusing on applicationoriented university are analyzed with CiteSpace. Key findings are summarized as follows. Hot areas in applicationoriented university research include teaching reform, practical teaching, cultivation of talents, curriculum construction and ability training, and the hot topics could be divided into four stages by Timezone. Five frontier topics displaying a strong tendency include higher vocation education, teaching skills, practice teaching system, the innovation ability and training goals. Based on the analysis of current research situation, personnel training specification of applied undergraduate education, diversity and unity of applied undergraduate education, enrollment system of applied undergraduate education should be paid attention to as research fields in the future.
