Abstract The SOTL Movement in America provides a new perspective for us to advocate the idea of integration of research with teaching. Through the analysis of the necessity and feasibility concerning the construction of the ability of scholarship of teaching, it can be concluded that the generation of the theory of pedagogical content knowledge, the discovery of the learning science and the change of the new information environment provide the possibility for the construction of the ability of scholarship of teaching. To form the scholarship of teaching, the key is to give full play to the respective role of university organizations, faculty, colleges and departments in university.
