Abstract:The research and learning ability of postgraduates is usually defined as the dynamic, progressive ability to learn scientific theories and methods, including motivation, inquisitiveness, knowledge transformation, creativity, etc. Its improvement should start from cultivation of students interest in research and learning, enhancement of their awareness of prolonged learning, and development of their ability to transform knowledge. The authors point out that postgraduates should attach importance to learning research methods, tutors should strengthen supervision over their students in the whole thesiswriting process, and that the school should give support to the education of postgraduates.
