Abstract:Objective: The ultrafine sodium chloride powder was sprayed to the air and formed a certain concentration of salt aerosol, to study the aerosol on air disinfection. Methods: The ultrafine sodium chloridewas prepared by the way of antisolvent, andnatural sedimentation method was used to collect colonies before and after disinfection. The number of colonies at different sedimentation time points were counted and identified. The disinfection effects of sodium chloride aerosol were evaluated. Results: Sodium chloride aerosol has significant bactericidal effects not only on the total number of bacterial colonies, but also specially on Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae and spores. Conclusion: The bactericidal effects of the ultrafine sodium chloride aerosol are significant and can be considered as a substitute for traditional air disinfection methods at operating rooms of the field hospital.
