The Inhibiting Effect of Occupational Stigma on Craftsman Spirit: An Empirical Study from Workers in Manufacturing Industries |

Abstract In this study, 380 survey data were collected from workers in manufacturing industries through questionnaires, and a moderated mediating effect model was constructed to explore the specific mechanism of occupational stigma on craftsman spirit. The results showed that occupational stigma had a significant negative effect on craftsmanship spirit, and occupational identity partly mediated the negative effect of occupational stigma on craftsmanship spirit. Family support and organizational support played a negative moderating role in the process of occupational stigma affecting occupational identity, and at the same time moderated the indirect impact of occupational stigma on workers craftsmanship spirit through occupational identity. This study reveals the influence mechanism of occupational stigma on the craftsmanship spirit of industrial workers, and enriches the research on the antecedents of craftsmanship spirit.
