| Comparison of efficacy and adverse reactions between amiodarone and metoprolol in elderly patients with atrial fibrillation |

Abstract Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of metoprolol and amiodarone on elderly patients with atrial fibrillation in clinical practice and analyze its adverse reactions.Methods Fifty elderly patients with atrial fibrillation were enrolled and randomly divided into observation group and control group. The control group was given a simple combined medication metoprolol；observation group was treated with metoprolol+amiodarone medication. The clinical efficacy of the two groups were compared. Results After treatment, compared with control group, observation group had higher levels of total effective rate (P<0.05). There was significant difference in adverse reactions between two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion Treating elderly atrial fibrillation patients with metoprolol +amiodarone had a good therapeutic effect and safety.
