Abstract ST-segment elevation is the typical ECG manifestation in acute transmural myocardial infarction. There are many theories about the mechanism of ST-segment elevation in acute transmural myocardial infarction. In this paper, we described three mainstream theories. The theory of “ion current” is based on sufficient experiments and theories. So the theory of “ion current” should be promoted as the general theory.
