Abstract The Notch signaling pathway is a highly conserved pathway that regulates the growth and development of organisms by cell-cell interactions. During the embryogenesis, Notch signaling pathway is involved in the programming from cardiac structure to cardiac electrophysiological properties, and plays an important role in the development of heart and conduction system. In recent years, it has been found that the Notch signaling pathway can regulate a variety of genes encoding ion channels, and participate in the mechanism of various arrhythmias. This review focuses on the structure and function of the Notch signaling pathway, and its effects on the mechanism of arrhythmias.
