Abstract Difficulty in adapting themselves to college life, one of the trickiest phaseal problems, usually disturbs freshmen to varying degrees. According to Bakhtin, the nature of thought is dialogue, dialogue events can be created in equality and tolerance can make dialogue develop endlessly. So the adaptation problem is due to the lack of dialogue between the students and the world. In order to help them overcome the difficulty, we should create great space for dialogue, help to bring about lively dialogue events and maintain the infinite vigor of dialogue.
