Abstract:This paper deconstructs the cooperative education milieu in recent years through a case study of the cooperative education programs of Purdue University and explores how cooperative education, as an education strategy, achieves its strategic objectives in education, research and service under the guidance of the collaborative spirit. As for the composition, diversified cooperative education programs promote the integration of experiential practice education, traditional learning and academic research and have also showed a significant global trend. With regard to the practice connotation, the collaboration among the government, the school and the enterprise is the driving force for the successful development of Purdue Universitys cooperative education programs, mainly manifested by collaboration in education and research as well as among different regions. Obviously, this collaboration strategy with cooperative education as its carrier can be adapted to help research universities produce innovative talents, improve their ability to serve new technologybased economic development and meet global challenges.
