Abstract To improve the power quality, reduce the system loss and save the equipment investment of PV grid connected system, a control strategy was proposed based on PV grid connected generation and reactive power compensation. By controlling grid connected inverter, the active power was delivered, and the reactive power in grid was compensated. An unified control strategy was presented based on SPWM,and a method of maximum power point tracking was also analyzed based on disturbance observer. Based on instantaneous reactive power theory and synthesis of grid connected current, the detection methods of active circuitry and reactive current were investigated. The whole system was verified by simulation with Simulink. The results of simulation show that the feasibilities of the system configuration, and the control strategy are verified to have expanded functions.
