Abstract A method for the determination of 4-n-Nonylphenol in water samples was proposed by a hollow fiber supported ionic liquid micro-extraction (HF-LPME) combined with high performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet detection. Polypropylene hollow fiber supported 1-Octyl-3-methylimidazo-lium hexafluorophosphate ([C8MIM][PF6]) was used for determination of 4-n-Nonylphenol in water samples. To achieve the optimum extraction performance, the main extraction parameters of extraction solvent volume, sample pH, salinity and extraction time were investigated. Under the optimized conditions with [C8MIM][PF6] volume of 5.0 μL, pH value of 5, salinity of 5% and extraction time of 8 h, the enrichment factor reaches 1 129 with mass concentration detection limit of 0.05 μg?L-1(S/N=3), and the mass concentration linear range is 0.15~100.00 μg?L-1(R=0.999 7)with recoveries from 80.1% to 105.6%.
