Calculation and remedial strategy for radial force in switched reluctance motors with static eccentricity |

Abstract Based on the field analysis, a new simplified radial force model was established in which saturation and fringing flux were considered. The model was compared with those from finite element method. Furthermore, the relationship between the radial eccentric force, rotor position and currents was given which was influenced by the magnetic saturation. It was shown that the radial force decreases with the increasing current for saturation and approaches zero when the field of opposite direction also reaches saturation. Finally, a remedial strategy by using pole currents independently controlled was proposed, which ake the total radial force on the rotor decrease to zero in theory
