Intracellular microcystins content change rule in reservoir |

|
Abstract The high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was used to monitor the intracellular microcystin - LR, - YR and - RR (MC - LR, - YR, - RR) within one year in five sampling cites: in a reservoir of northern China. The rule of the intracellular microcystins changing with time was explored, and the influence of environmental conditions on intracellular microcystins level was discussed. The MC - LR is detected until the month of April. The MC - YR content is below the limit of detection from February to April, and so is that of MC - RR from January to April. The peak contents of MC - YR and MC - LR occur in September, but MC - RR occur in October. From April to September, the MC contents order is ρ( MC -LR) 〉ρ( MC -RR) 〉ρ( MC -YR). The MC -RR content is highest among the three kinds of intracellular microcystins from October to December. The MC - LR content is higher than that of MC - RR in October and November. In December, the MC - LR content is below the limit of the detection, but the MC -YR is higher than that of November. The environmental factors have different influ- ence on intracellular microcystins level. Dissolved oxygen and nitrate are significant related factors to intracellular microcystins. Total phosphorus, dissolved total phosphorus and dissolved phosphorus correlate well with MC -RR. Ammonia nitrogen displays negative significantly correlation with MC -LR.
