Analyses on stress distribution of aluminum wheel considering residual stress |

Abstract The low pressure die casting process of certain type of aluminum alloy wheel is simulated with the software ProCAST, and the residual stress at the nodes is obtained. Data exchange program is compiled. Node, element and six components of the stress tensor at the node files are transmitted into ANSYS software using the interface program. Then the structures of the wheel are analyzed by the structure module of ANSYS. Through this method, the wheel with residual stress can be analyzed when we load other weight on it. The results are more accurate than the one without residual stress.
