Abstract In order to obtain the visual distribution of internal magnetic field in squirrel cage rotor of asynchronous magnetic coupling, theoretical analysis of no-load magnetic field was given. Influencing factors in air gap magnetic field of this coupling including magnetic pole number, permanent magnet thickness, length of air gap, slot numbers of inner rotor, slot width and slot depth were analyzed by ANSYS. The results show that the air gap flux density reaches the maximum in the erection range when the magnetic coupling is 14 poles, the thickness of permanent magnets is 8 mm, slot number is 24, the width of slots is 8 mm, and the depth of slots is 18 ram. The finite element analysis of squirrel cage rotor of asynchronous magnetic coupling provides a new way to optimize the structure of this magnetic coupling.
