Abstract To realize the meticulous control of carbon emissions in the sewage treatment plant, based on the CO2 concentration monitoring data of Zhenjiang Dantu Wastewater Treatment Plant, the CO2 concentration distribution map of the study area was drawn with the analyses of spatial and temporal characteristics of CO2 concentration distribution as core. The CO2 changes in the wastewater treatment plant were compared longitudinally and spatially, and the effects of meteorological factors, process conditions and operating parameters on the CO2 concentration in each study area were analyzed. The results show that in the spatial distribution, the CO2 concentration of the process unit measurement points is higher than those of other areas in the plant, and the CO2 concentration of the biochemical pool is generally higher than other structures. The study area shows varying degrees of seasonality in the time distribution, and the local CO2 concentration in the sewage treatment plant is obviously affected by influent water quality, temperature and wind speed.
