Abstract In order to study the lowcarbon development of developing urban traffic, the carbon emissions measurement of daily trip of residents in the developing city was investigated. The carbon emissions calculation model of individual daily trip was built, and the residents daily trip database was established by random survey questionnaire. The trip carbon emissions on the same individual of working day and nonworking day were calculated. The results show that the total carbon emissions of individual in working day and nonworking day are on the rise. The carbon emission produced by single trip way accounts for 78.16% of total carbon emissions, and the consumption of terminal energy accounts for 95.17%. The carbon emission by private car travel accounts for the largest proportion in total carbon emissions and shows the largest increase from working day to nonworking day. The carbon emission from mixed trip mode takes the second place and shows the most decrease from working day to nonworking day. The all per capita carbon emissions show rising trend except mixed trip mode, and the carbon emission from private car shows the most obvious rising. The transportation with fuels of gasoline and natural gas is the main reason for the high carbon emissions.
