Expression of serum COL11A1 in gastric cancer patients and its clinical sign |

Abstract Objective: To investigate the expression of serum type Ⅺ collagen α 1 chain(COL11A1) and its clinical significance in patients with gastric cancer. Methods: The serum COL11A1 gene was detected by real time fluorescence quantitative PCR in the serum of healthy persons(n=25), superficial gastritis(n=25) and gastric cancer patients(n=50). The correlation between the levels of serum COL11A1 and the clinic pathological parameters was analyzed, and the diagnostic efficiency was analyzed by the ROC curve. Results: The expression of serum COL11A1(5.196±1.417) in patients with gastric cancer was significantly higher than that in healthy persons(1.398±0.182), and the difference was statistically significant(t=2.659, P0.05). The area under the ROC curve of serum COL11A1 in gastric cancer patients was 0.811, and the 95% confidence interval(CI) was 0.680-0.942. When the cutoff value was 1.583, the sensitivity was 75% and the specificity 76.5%. Conclusion: The expression of COL11A1 gene in the patients with gastric cancer is higher, and closely related to the depth of tumor invasion and TNM staging. The serum COL11A1 is expected to be a potential clinical diagnostic index of gastric cancer.
