Abstract “What is political philosophy?”, like “what is philosophy?” , is a question without an ultimate answer. The answers can only be found in the differences and consensus in different discourses. Therefore, the recent revival and development of political philosophy only made the understanding of political philosophy more diverse and complex, which is clearly shown in these articles following. “The Two Concepts of Marx's Political Philosophy” explains the phenomena of dichotomy in the understanding of Marx's political philosophy concept from the dichotomy of politics. It then from the horizon of communism argues that there are two kinds of concept of Marx's political philosophy, political philosophy of friendship and political philosophy of struggle. Starting from the changes of philosophy and politics in the contemporary society, “Political Philosophy as the First Philosophy” puts forward the proposition , and on the base of postmetaphysical practical mode of thinking , views political philosophy as the philosophical thinking of the possible life of human community. It creates, invents and defends the basic ideas of human community. “The‘Definition’ of Political Philosophy and its Contemporary Meaning” outlines the different understandings of political philosophy from the perspectives such as the research object, way of thinking, and so on. It argues that grasping the contemporary meaning of political philosophy is an effective way to understand political philosophy. At the end, it points out that the theory of justice is the typical form of contemporary political philosophy, which is very different from the classical political philosophy.
