Abstract “Community aesthetics” is an open comprehensive academic proposition based on the social context and realistic experience of Chinese movies. The psychological basis of this aesthetics is “empathy”,a western literary concept. From the perspective of contemporary cognitive psychology, movie empathy can be divided into mood, emotion and cognition.The three are interdependent, and form the three psychological configurations of “community aesthetics” in current Chinese movies.
