Abstract:ObjectiveTo investigate the changes of QT dispersion(QTd) and corrected QT dispersion(QTcd) on the ECG of type 2 diabetes patients with hypoglycemic coma before and after treatment. MethodsWe selected 32 patients specifically diagnosed with type 2 diabetes complicating hypoglycemic coma in the Emergency Department. Among them, the indexes of QTd and QTcd before and 6 hours after bloodsugarraise therapy were made comparative analysis. ResultsIn the occurrence of hypoglycemic coma, QTd and QTcd values of type 2 diabetes patients were significantly higher than those after the treatment, both with statistically significant differences(P<0.01). ConclusionThe elevation of QTd and QTcd on ECG is caused by hypoglycemic coma, which is related to the excessive activation of cardiac autonomic nerve due to hypoglycemia, and dysfuntion of Na+K+ pump and Ca2+ pump of myocardial cells caused by energy material deficiency.
