1 Design and test of self-priming and flow-ejecting spray pump

The structure and working principle of a self-priming and flow-ejecting spray pump are elaborated.A venturi tube is added in the pump inlet,which connects with the reflux hole in the sixth section of the volute,so as to develop the self-circulation.When the pump starts working,the self-priming process can be achieved,and the water-ejecting valve will be shut off automatically.At this moment,the back-flow system will stop working.Thus,compared with the traditional self-priming spray pump,the efficiency of the new type has been raised by 3%~5%.Through the analysis of performance test for a series of spray pumps it shows that,the performance curve is stable and smooth,the range of high efficiency is wide,and the pump operates under the optimum condition.All the technical indexes of the pump are satisfied.Compared to the traditional types,the efficiency has been raised by(8.9%,) the self-priming time has been shortened by 32 s~60 s,and the weight has been reduced by an average of 15.8%.

5 Numerical simulation of turbulent flow through full passage of submersible axial pump and performance predictions

In order to improve the performance of submersible axial pump and to attain the rule of inside flow field,the standard κ-ε turbulence model and SIMPLEC algorithm are applied to simulate the full flow passage of the ZQ2870C-4 submersible axial pump by CFD.According to the rule of distribution of velocity and pressure on surfaces of blade and guide blade,the design deficiencies of the pump at axial section flow channel and blade are pointed out,and the optimum profiles of blade,guide blade and the shape of axial section flow channel are obtained.Based on the simulation,performance curve of the pump is predicted.The result of the computation indicates that the value of prediction accords with experimental data at design condition.Further study is required for the turbulent model at the off-design condition.

10 Calculation and experiment on canned motor pump

The causes of power loss of canned motor pumps were analyzed. The difference of power loss between canned motors and ordinary motors were compared.The computation method for cases loss was introduced.The power loss was interrelated with thickness and material of cases,length and diameter of stators and rotors,viscosity of liquid,revolution,and cooling circuit.By taking a chemical pump deve-(loped) by Jiangsu University as an illustration,the feasibility of this method was validated by comparing the calculating result with testing result.The testing result indicated that the cases loss was interrelated with the friction loss of rotors.This computational method will provide instructional guidance for the design of chemical canned pumps.

14 Selection of blade-adjustment mode for baoying pumping station in S-to-N water diversion project

The mode and range of blade-adjustment mechanism for large and middle-scale pumping stations are outlined and the new blade-adjustment method is introduced in which the piston is placed in between flanges of pump shaft and motor shaft for environmental protection.According to the characteristics and parameters of Baoying Pumping Station,the new blade-adjustment mode has been selected and the structure of impeller has been studied.The operation time is 93 s for blade openings from 100% to 0% and is 94 s from 0% to 100%,where both times are in normal ranges.The result of the commissioning test showed that the blade-adjustment system is reliable and stable,the mechanism is flexible and the performance of pumps is successful.

18 Pump selection predictions in large pump station reconstructions

Based on similarity theory and expressions of water head and efficiency curves of pumps and pump sets,a mathematical model for predicting water head and efficiency of prototype pumps and pumping sets is put forward.According to the model,the pump set characteristics are predicted and the optimal hydraulic model of pumps suited to the Shangqiao Pump Station is selected.The optimal selection result is 350ZMB-3.8 model.After reconstruction,the single pump flow rate increases by 5~8 m~3/s under the same input power.

22 Application of dynamic programming in optimization and adjustment of small-scale irrigation pumping station groups

The reform and construction planning of mechanical and electrical pumping station must be adjusted along with the adjustment of irrigation area.By using the dynamic planning,and taking the pumping station as the stage variable,the water volume as the decision variable,and the largest irrigation efficiency as objective function,the optimization to the regional irrigation pumping station group is conducted,and the adjustment schemes of the construction and rebuilding of the pumping station are proposed,which is important to the efficient use of water resources in rural area.By the optimization and rebuilding of Huai-Lian Irrigation District,the project efficiency in the irrigation area is improved and the demand of irrigation is ensured.

25 Liquid-air switch valve and its application in automatic agricultural sprinkler system

According to the requirement of the "pneumatic method" used in residual liquid of agricultural chemicals and liquid fertilizer dispersion,the newly developed liquid-air switch valves in automatic agricultural sprinkler system was introduced,the structure and the working process of the liquid-air switch valves were given,the piping systems using residual liquid with "pneumatic method" and the characteristics and functions of the liquid-air switch valves in automatic agricultural sprinkler system were also introduced.It provides a reference for the design of agricultural chemicals and liquid fertilizer automatic dispersion system,the application of "pneumatic method",and the selection of liquid-air switch valves.

29 Analyze on cavitation reason about large reversible tubular pump

To give reference for construction and operation on large reversible tubular pump station,combining with Huai′an No.3 reversible tubular pump,problems on cavitation and its reasons are analyzed through field tests.It demonstrated that the different blade surface cavitation distributed in working surface of blade outlet and inlet;cavitation on outlet(comparing with pumping condition) is more severely than inlet;light cavitation on volute belonged to Ⅲ~Ⅳ.The reason is that deeply consideration on pumping condition is performed in the designing stage,so under higher water head the working conditions are worse and the cavitation appeared.

33 Optimization method for hydraulic turbine PID governor

It is well-known that the running condition of hydraulic turbines could be deviated from the designed condition at any time.So the parameter controlling of the PID governor is very important for the stability of hydraulic turbines.Aimed at the hydraulic turbine PID governor,based on the control theory and the basic state equations,and by nalyzing the adjustable parameters about the hydraulic turbine PID governor,the target function is constructed and the optimization method and theories are derived.According to the cases study,it shows that the method of parameter optimization has higher optimizing efficency.The drawbacks of the method are that one must construct the corresponding target function and perform complicated iterations.

37 Auto-writing of drawing list for assembly drawing in AutoCAD

Even in AutoCAD,writing of Drawing List for Assembly is humdrum and apt to make careless mistakes.The paper discusses the method to implement auto-writing of Drawing List by combining the xdatas of ARX′s database object,which record parts information while the part numbers are drawed,with ODBC database technique.The method has been employed in programming of software HYCAD and is proved can work as expectedly.The experience has proved that combing xdatas of ARX′s database object with ODBC database technique can fulfill the unified information management and interaction of drawing objects.

40 Study of measuring precision for charge to mass ratio by mesh target

To improve the measurement precision of charge to mass ratio for droplets or powder,a device based on the mesh target with practical structure and function was designed.By neglecting the value change of the charge to mass ratio caused by the different pesticide solution,the corona charging method was used with water solution replacing pesticide solution.The effect by the measurement system on the precision was studied.The result shows that the main factors affecting the measurement precision are: high-voltage electric field,surroundings,grounding resistance and so on.From the test it was found that a stable and accurate signal can be obtained by replacing the measurement setting in a comparatively stable and separate space,improving the insulation of the electrode and electromagnetism shield of mesh target and measurement system,and reducing the grounding resistance to less than 2 Ω.

44 Application of variable frequency speed regulation technique in pump control system

The electric power consumption of water pumps accounts for 30%~50% cost in the water making.How to lower the consumption of electricity and to reduce the cost is the major task in water factories.The principle of energy saving by variable frequency and speed adjusting in the pump control system is introduced.The application of variable frequency technique in a real pump control system is studied as an example.The method not only can economize the energy,but also bring convenience to operation,make equipments circulate more steady,prolong the life span of the equipments,and provide the assurance for the production safety.

47 Research progress of cavitation,silt abrasion and their synergism

Cavitation,silt abrasion and their synergism cause severe damage to fluid machinery.The mechanism of cavitation,silt abrasion and their synergism can be studied by experiments and numerical simulation,which are the basis for optimizing the fluid machinery design and enhancing the life-span under those conditions.The factors which affect the behavior of cavitation,silt abrasion and their synergism include flow velocity,pressure,and the characteristics of sand and materials.Recently the research of this field focuses on the mechanism of damage in different conditions,interaction between different factors and high performance materials,etc.All these are briefly summarized in this review.
