16 Wear and Tear of Pump Impeller Due to Sand-laden Flow and Its Improving Measures

There are a large number of pump stations used for irrigation along the valley of Yellow River with a common problem to be solved urgently. It is the destruction of pump impeller due to cavitation and wear characteristic of the sand laden water flow of Yellow River. By observing the characteristics of pump destruction for years, the mechanism and major influencing factors of the wear occured with the impeller of centrifugal pumps are analysed with solid liquid two phase theory, and several wear resisting or wear reducing measures, such as improved design of impeller parameters and adoption of blades of welded impeller with pressed plate, are put forward. It has been found that after practical operation with such impeller, the service life of the impeller can be doubled and the average operation efficiency is improved with remarkable economic benefit and the value for application.

20 Development the Miniture Shielded Pump

The develop process for the two types 1XPB 2 and 1XPB 3 miniture shielded pump is introduced. The hydraulic models designed by velocity coefficients and similarity method are successful. Due to the small flow, low specific speed and high cavity requirement, the paper selects larger impeller inlet diameter D 0 and vane inlet width b 1 and suitable inlet vane angle β 1, and the tests show that the pump characteristics meet the design requirements.

25 The Pump’s CAD/CAM Integrity System on the Base of a Datebase

28 Dealing With Manual Test Data Using EXCEL and AutoCAD

This paper presents a method dealing with manual test data rapidly. Using EXCEL, test results are calculated from original test data. Performance curves are drawn by linking EXCEL and AutoCAD. Furthermore, impeller cut and speed changd performance curves can be shown dynamicaly.

Weicun pumping station is a large irrigation/drainage pumping station in harnessing Taihu Lake project.By analyzing and summarizing the design of the reversible inlet passage practiced in Weicun pumping station,a new type reversible spiral case inlet passage suited to large or middle irrigation/drainage pumping station is put forward and recommended.

39 The Energy Saving Ways for Pump Station Distribution Installations

When we remake the technology of saving energy in the pump station, we may have these ways: the economic and reliable ways of joining the lines, the efficient distribution lines and the higher power numbers. If we compensate the pump station with lower power numbers for electric power and electric capacity, we can reduce the current load in the power source and the lines.

42 A Study on the Parallel Connection Venturi Tube and Its Parameter Selection

Based on theoretical deduction and experiment, this article establishes both functional and emperical formula among throat pressure, front and back pressure difference, outlet pressure and geometrical parameters of parallel connection venturi tube. What is more,through compiling the computer program, it draws the curves of hindering coefficients of front and behind inclinations of venturi tube under the conditions of different throaty diameters or different ranges of throaty pressure, and offers optimum selection parameters of front and behind inclinations of parallel connection venturi tube. This will offer important foundation of theory and practice which will help people design, study the parallel connection venturi tube and popularize its applications to sprinkler irrigation system.
