In order to improve the efficiency and stability of rotor system, the rotor-bearing system for different stages high pressure pump of seawater reverse osmosis desalination systems is mode analyzed using ANSYS. The rotor system critical speed are calculated, and the relationship between the stage number and the critical speed as well as the logarithmic decay rate is studied. The optimal selection for stage number is discussed under consideration of the relationship between pump efficiency and stage number. The results show that 6 stages is more reasonable for rotor system stability and efficiency. Some references on selecting reasonable parameters for this type pump design are proposed.
