Abstract In view of the development of mud pump and the background of computer application in engineering industry, research of computer-aided hydraulic design of mud pump has been done with an advanced developing tool, and object-oriented developing technique successfully applied in computer-aided design of mud pump. With practical application of the CAD module developed, the process of design is made simpler and more explicit; the precision of design is improved simultaneously. So the module is applicable to hydraulic design of mud pump and is worth to be generalized. What’s more, the module can be used as a developed base to satisfy further needs of progress of computer integrated manufacturing system.
