Abstract The turbo-type flow meter is one of flow rate measurement instrument in pump test. The paper discusses the structure and basic principle of the turbo-type flow meter. The precision within whole measurement rang for "measurement based on frequency" and "measurement based on period" is different. The application of multi-period synchro-measurement in the turbo-type flow measurement is put forward. The precision of flow rate measurement is improved further.
