Abstract The small flow,low specific speed and high cavity requirement of the canned motor pump is introduced.Its structure,working principle and the function characteristics are analyzed.The reason of the cavitation,and the measure of anti-cavitation are discussed.The design method includes: to select larger impeller inlet diameter Dj,suitable inlet vane angle β1,shape of the vane inlet,vane′s number,shape of the impeller inlet channel,and so on.The service tests of two canned motor pumps are carried out to determine the relation of Δhc and Q.The test results show that the pump characteristics meet the design requirements.shielded pump;cavitation;measure
