Abstract The inner flow of a new-type streamline shape XCK mixer with two blades was simulated by using unstructured-tetrahedron grid and MRF technology in Fluent 6.0.The flow characters of the mixer at different heights installation were compared.The mixing effects by axial-flow blade and runoff-flow blade were compared,and the former showed better mixing effect than the latter.Results show that the mixer′s flow is axial-symmetrical and the axial-flow is the most prominent as the mixing blades are fixed in the center of the mixing tank.
