Improvements of Flow Pattern of Double Inlet Passage

Abstract:Based on the model experiments for the 1st and 2nd double suction dock pumping station in Shanghai Waigaoqiao Ship Manufacture Base, the hydraulic characteristics of inlet system of double suction pumping station are investigated here. Also, the causes and damages of the reverse-flow and vortex in the intake chambers are analyzed theoretically, and the measurements to improve the inlet flow patterns are presented.
