Abstract: The samples collected from the pump rubber seals were extracted by Soxhlet Extraction Method and Ultrasonic Extraction Method respectively.PAHs were separated from the impurities in the pump rubber seals.The extracted liquids were determined by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.The impact on the concentration,recovery and distribution of PAHs extracted by different extracting methods from pump rubber seals were studied.It was found that the PAHs categories were the same by the two extraction methods,but the Soxhlet Extraction was better than the Ultrasonic Extraction in PAHs quantities,PAHs recoveries and PAHs mass numbers in different polarity and solubility.The results indicated that the ability of Soxhlet extraction method was better than that of ultrasonic extraction method under the GC-MS analytic conditions.However,the Ultrasonic Extraction had special advantage in extracting the high boiling point compounds.Therefore,the sample pretreatment techniques were determined by the compounds character and the different samples complexion.
