Abstract:A CB80-65-125 ship cooling pump was reformed to improve the limitations of the application conditions.FLUENT software was used to simulate the flow field for the optimization.The new type ship cooling pump was designed with thinner leaf blade with extended inlet,and smaller inlet diameter.The three-dimensional inner flow model was built in Pro/E.A simulation was performed to analyze the flow around the impeller inlet,to study the effects of geometry parameters of impeller on the hydraulic performance at the rated point,by using SIMPLEC algorithm and standard k-ε turbulence model.The experimental results indicate that the static pressure distribution and the relative velocity diffusion are uniform,and there is no obvious swirl and boundary-layer separation.So the design is reasonable.The efficiency of the new type ship cooling pump achieves to 67.9%,4.4 percent higher than the old one.The head is 20.8 m.The pump is relatively simple in structure and light in weight.Besides,the developed pump can also improve the cavitation resistance of the pump.
