Off-design flow field analysis and radial force prediction of centrifugal pump

Abstract:By adopting Reynolds Averaged N-S equation and RNG k-ε model,the impeller-volute coupled characteristics are simulated by using SIMPLEC algorithm.Based on the analysis of the flow field,the radial force calculation model is presented.The radial forces are calculated under different flow rate conditions.The result indicates that the radial force is the smallest under the designed flow rate.By comparing the numerical results with that from Stepanoff equation,it shows that the differences between them are from minus to plus with the increase of the flow rate,and the relative error is small.
