Abstract:The causes of power loss of canned motor pumps were analyzed. The difference of power loss between canned motors and ordinary motors were compared.The computation method for cases loss was introduced.The power loss was interrelated with thickness and material of cases,length and diameter of stators and rotors,viscosity of liquid,revolution,and cooling circuit.By taking a chemical pump deve-(loped) by Jiangsu University as an illustration,the feasibility of this method was validated by comparing the calculating result with testing result.The testing result indicated that the cases loss was interrelated with the friction loss of rotors.This computational method will provide instructional guidance for the design of chemical canned pumps.
