Abstract:In order to balance the large axial force on the SWRO-HP pump,a program for calculating the axial thrust equilibrator is written by the VB 6.0,and a special equilibrator making up with balancing disc and balancing sleeve is designed by using the program.In order to get a better sensitivity on the balancing disc,the connection between the diameter of balancing disc and the force bear by the balancing piston is studied by using the program.The force bear by the balancing piston is 70%,and the range of sensitivity is 0.23~0.28,Based on these the size of geometry for equilibrator is confirmed.In order to avoid the end-plate of balancing disc to contact friction,the connection about the change of b2 and equilibrant is worked out by using the program.Compared with the test,the difference of the leakage rate is just 5.11%.The problem of large axial thrust which is brought by the SWRO-HP pump is successfully solved by the equilibrator.The leakage is 2.6% of the SWRO-HP pump′s flow rate,far less than the general multi-stage pump.
