Abstract:In order to get the same performances at the two-way operating conditions,a symmetric aerofoil can be used where the suction surface is the same as the pressure surface.The reversible impeller with the symmetric aerofoil was designed to achieve two-ways pumping function for environmental water treatment engineering.Numerical simulation of three-dimensional turbulent flow was applied to the reversible suction box for shaft pumping station.The key dimension of passages and shapes were optimized by CFD.Based on the National test standard and criterion,the hydraulic performances of 5 impeller angles were tested on the high-precise hydraulic machinery test rig from lager flowrate to small flowrate.The model test results indicated good performance characteristic.The prototype performance conversed by Mode equation revealed that the bi-directional shaft-well tubular pumping system could be operated on the BEP and the efficiency could be achieved above 60%.The research results could be applied to design the similar type of pumping stations.
