Abstract Based on the questionnaire survey data of 23 universities in different provinces of China, also based on interview data, this paper makes an empirical research on the status quo and identification mechanism of college students′ socialist core values.The results show that college students have a high degree of recognition of socialist core values;The knowledge of socialist core values of college students has a direct positive linear effect on recognition.Factors such as political outlook, life satisfaction, life outlook and social trend of thought have an important influence on the identification of college students′ socialist core values, and the political view plays a significant mediating variable role.Cultivating college students′ socialist core values in the new era, should be focused on improving the degree of knowledge about, fostering emotional identity as the breakthrough point, emphasizing the positive role of political concept mediation variables, to eliminate the negative impact of the social ideological trend, bring into play the function of education factors combined, according to the specific characteristics of different groups of college students are the key breakthrough.
