Abstract The teaching reform on practical engineering education should start with its objectives of training engineering talents and take its professional, engineering and fielding features into consideration. The reform should be advanced on the basis of five principles: studentcentered, vacationoriented, systematic, peculiar and with global vision. The methods of building up a practical teaching system should focus on the aspects as follows: the establishment of reasonable objectives, the scientific design of courses, the creation of new teaching models, the improvement in administration systems and the invention of mechanism to guarantee teaching.
