Abstract：Small and mediumsized colleges and universities have assumed the task of popularization of higher education in China, and occupied an important place in the diversified higher education pattern. By analyzing the schoolrunning orientation of Dongguan College of Technology, the present article points out that small and mediumsized colleges and universities should form the idea of coexistence with the local area and keep track of the situation and trend of the development of regional higher education and that keeping a reasonable size and distinctive features is also beneficial to their schoolrunning orientation.
