The Developing and Breaking through of Institution Research in the Era of Big Data: A Review of “The Object, Content and Method of Data Analysis in Institution Research” Seminar and the 2013 Annual Conference of Chinas Institution Research
Abstract:Many scholars think that, for achieving a change from the “initial formation” to “regular development”, China institution research must break through the research methods. At the same time, the era of big data is changing people thinking ways, that is, from paying attention to qualitative research to speaking by many data, from emphasizing the accuracy of data to receiving complex data, from focusing on causation to pursuing correlativity. The changes in the thinking ways can give the developmental direction of the institution research. Both the macro and the micro issues in colleges and universities can be researched by collecting and analyzing data, identifying problems and finding countermeasures.
