Abstract:The study takes academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering who graduated with a bachelor′s degree after 1972 as research samples, and uses resume analysis and biographical research methods to analyze their experiences of studying abroad. It finds that most academicians have experiences of studying abroad; the relevant experience makes topnotch innovative talents represented by academicians of two academies achieve great progress in scientific research literacy development and personal growth, promotes their pioneering research in China, and is the key turning point of their growth. In the postepidemic era, we should improve the work level of studying abroad, put China′s higher education into the "internationalization process" with high quality and large scale, and cultivate topnotch innovative talents for China′s development. Specifically, we should promote the decentralization of destination countries for studying abroad; deepen university curriculum and teaching reform, and realize the diversification of foreign language teaching; expand the scale of overseas students, increase efforts in funding, and promote the diversification of funding sources.
